Million dollar pound cake

This Million Dollar Pound Cake is moist, and buttery, with a tender crumb. It’s great for birthdays, special occasions, or even weekdays.

PREPARATION TIME:

Prep Time: 20 minutes minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour hour 25  minutes 
Total Time: 1 hour hour 45 minutes 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 ½ cup butter softened
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon coconut extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup whole milk

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon coconut extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons whole milk
  • pinch of salt optional

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter. Add in the sugar and cream for 3 minutes. Add in the eggs, one at a time and beat. Add in the extracts and mix well.
  • Alternate adding the flour with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Use a spatula to scrape down the sides between additions.
  • Once the batter is fully mixed, pour into a 10” bundt pan that has been well sprayed with baking spray containing flour.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 1 hr and 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out cleanly.
  • Place on a rack to allow to cool for 10 minutes before inverting on a rack to completely cool.
  • To make the glaze:
  • Stir together the melted butter, powdered sugar and extracts. Add in the milk a little at a time to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Drizzle it over the cooled cake. Slice and enjoy!
