Carnivore Beef and Egg Gratin

  • This beef and egg gratin is a simple but satisfying meal that’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Made with only 4 animal-based ingredients plus sea salt, it’s hearty and keeps you satisfied for hours without skyrocketing your blood sugar and insulin levels.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb = 450 g ground beef
  • 6 organic free-range eggs
  • 1 cup = 240 ml freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup = 120 ml heavy cream
  • unrefined sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream. Season with salt to taste.
  4. Spread the cooked ground beef in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the beef, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  6. Bake for 25—30 minutes, or until the eggs are almost completely set and the top is lightly browned.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with chopped herbs or freshly grated Parmesan, if desired.
