Here’s a hearty Carnivore Steak recipe—simple, primal, and loaded with flavor. Perfect for those following a carnivore, keto, or low-carb diet.
Carnivore Ribeye Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
1 large ribeye steak (1–1.5 inches thick)
Salt (preferably sea salt or Redmond Real Salt)
Optional: Beef tallow, butter, or ghee for cooking
Instructions:
Bring to Room Temp:
Take the steak out of the fridge 30–60 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature. This helps it cook more evenly.
Season:
Generously season both sides with salt. That’s it—no herbs, no pepper, just salt for the pure carnivore approach.
Heat the Pan:
Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over high heat until it’s smoking hot. You can add a tablespoon of beef tallow, ghee, or butter for extra fat and flavor.
Sear:
Sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust time based on thickness and preferred doneness. Press it down slightly to ensure even sear.
Optional Crust Finish:
After searing, you can add a spoonful of butter and baste the steak while it rests in the pan for 30 seconds to a minute.
Rest:
Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This keeps the juices inside and makes the meat more tender.
Bonus Tallow Butter (Carnivore “Sauce”)
Optional but amazing.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp beef tallow
1 tbsp butter (or more tallow for strict carnivore)
Dash of salt
Melt together in a pan and pour over your steak before serving.
