Air Fryer Roast Beef Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 – 2 lb (700g – 1kg) beef roast (sirloin, rump, or topside work well)
2 tbsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried rosemary (or fresh, finely chopped)
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
Instructions:
Prepare the beef
Pat the beef dry with paper towels.
Rub it all over with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and paprika.
Let it rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes (helps even cooking).
Preheat the air fryer
Set the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Cook the roast
- Place the beef in the air fryer basket (fat side up).
- Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 10 minutes to sear the outside.
- Then lower to 350°F (175°C) and cook for:
- 20–25 minutes per lb for medium rare
- 25–30 minutes per lb for medium
- 30–35 minutes per lb for well done
(Use a meat thermometer: 125°F/52°C for rare, 135°F/57°C for medium-rare, 145°F/63°C for medium, 160°F/71°C for well done.)
Rest the beef
Remove roast from the air fryer and cover loosely with foil.
Let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing (juices redistribute).
Serving Suggestions:
Slice thinly and serve with roasted veggies or mashed potatoes.
Great for Sunday roast or sliced thin for sandwiches.
