Avocado Margarita

Here’s a refreshing and creamy Avocado Margarita recipe — a unique twist on the classic that’s smooth, zesty, and surprisingly well-balanced.

Avocado Margarita Recipe

Servings: 2 cocktails
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado (about ½ large or 1 small)

3 oz (90 ml) blanco tequila

1 oz (30 ml) triple sec or Cointreau

1.5 oz (45 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1½ limes)

½ oz (15 ml) agave syrup (or to taste)

Ice (about 1½ cups for blending)

Optional: ½ oz orange juice or pineapple juice (adds brightness)

Garnish:

Lime wedge

Coarse salt or Tajín (for rimming the glass)

Instructions:

Prepare the glasses:

Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass.

Dip rims into salt or Tajín to coat. Set aside.

Blend the drink:

In a blender, combine:

Flesh of the avocado

Tequila

Triple sec

Lime juice

Agave syrup

Ice

Blend until smooth and creamy (about 30 seconds).

Taste and adjust:

Add more lime for tang, or agave if you want it sweeter.

If it’s too thick, splash in a bit of water or juice.

Serve:

Pour into prepared glasses.

Garnish with a lime wedge or a thin avocado slice.

Tips:

Use a ripe avocado (soft but not mushy) for best texture.

Want it spicy? Add a slice of jalapeño to the blender.

Make it a frozen version by using frozen avocado chunks and more ice.
