Here’s a super cheap and easy cabbage recipe: Fried Cabbage with Onions and Garlic.
Ingredients:
1/2 head of cabbage, shredded or chopped
1 onion, sliced
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or any you have)
Salt & pepper to taste
(Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of vinegar for a kick)
Instructions:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add onions and cook until soft and a little golden (about 5 minutes).
Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Toss in cabbage and stir well. Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it softens and gets some browning.
Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices or vinegar.
It’s great on its own, with rice, or next to eggs or sausage.
