Here’s a simple and delicious cranberry juice recipe you can make at home — fresh, tart, and a little sweet!
Homemade Cranberry Juice
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries (about 12 oz)
4 cups water
1/2 to 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
Optional: a cinnamon stick, orange peel, or a splash of lemon juice for extra flavor
Instructions:
Rinse the cranberries under cold water and discard any that are soft or bruised.
In a large saucepan, combine cranberries and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the cranberries have popped and softened.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl or pitcher, pressing the berries to extract as much juice as possible. (You can save the pulp for smoothies or baking!)
Return the juice to the pot and stir in sugar while the juice is still warm. Start with 1/2 cup and adjust to taste. Stir until dissolved.
(Optional) Add cinnamon stick or orange peel while the juice is still warm for extra flavor, then remove after 10–15 minutes.
Cool and chill the juice in the fridge. Serve over ice or warm it for a cozy version.
