Here’s a reliable, crispy-yet-chewy gluten-free pizza crust that works well in a home oven 🍕

Easy Gluten-Free Pizza Crust

Ingredients (1 large pizza or 2 small)

2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum)

1 packet (2¼ tsp) instant yeast

1 tsp sugar or honey

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp apple cider vinegar (improves texture)

Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder or Italian seasoning

Instructions

Activate yeast
In a bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Stir in yeast and let sit 5 minutes until foamy.

Mix dough
Add flour, salt, olive oil, vinegar, and any seasonings. Mix until a thick, sticky dough forms (thicker than cake batter, softer than wheat dough).

Rest
Cover and let rest for 15–20 minutes. This hydrates the flour and improves texture.

Shape crust
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
Place dough on parchment paper, lightly oil your hands, and press into a 10–12 inch circle. Build the edge slightly thicker.

Par-bake
Bake crust 8–10 minutes until set and lightly golden.

Top & finish
Add sauce, cheese, and toppings. Return to oven and bake 8–12 minutes until bubbly and browned.

Tips for Best Results

Flour matters: Brands like Bob’s Red Mill 1-to-1 or King Arthur Measure-for-Measure work well.

Crispier crust: Brush edges with olive oil before baking.

Dairy-free: Use olive oil–based toppings and dairy-free cheese.

Thicker crust: Reduce water slightly and make a smaller pizza.
