Here’s a simple, hands-free spaghetti recipe that you can make with minimal effort and a bit of multitasking!
Hands-Free Spaghetti Recipe
Ingredients:
200g spaghetti (for 2 servings)
2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
1 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Equipment:
Large pot for boiling pasta
A pan for warming sauce (optional)
Instructions:
Boil the Pasta:
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add a pinch of salt for flavor.
Once the water is boiling, drop in the spaghetti. Stir occasionally to prevent the noodles from sticking.
Cook according to the package instructions (typically 8-10 minutes). You can just set a timer and let it cook without much attention.
Warm the Sauce:
While the pasta cooks, pour the marinara sauce into a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan.
Microwave method: Microwave the sauce for 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure it heats evenly.
Stovetop method: Heat the sauce in a small pan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve:
Once the pasta is ready (al dente is best), drain it using a colander.
Optionally, toss the drained pasta with a little olive oil to keep it from sticking.
Pour the warm marinara sauce over the pasta. Stir or mix together if you like, or just serve it with the sauce on top.
Garnish:
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan, and top with fresh basil or parsley for a nice touch.
Tips:
For an even more hands-free experience, use pre-cooked pasta (the kind that’s already boiled and in a sealed package) and just warm it up in the sauce!
You can add cooked veggies or protein (like pre-cooked chicken or sausage) to the sauce to make the meal more filling.
