Pizza Bannock Pops Recipe
Ingredients:
For the bannock dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp oil or melted butter
¾ cup warm water (more if needed)
For the filling:
½ cup pizza sauce (or tomato sauce with Italian seasoning)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup pepperoni slices (or cooked sausage, ham, or veggies)
Optional: diced onions, peppers, mushrooms, olives
For finishing:
1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
A sprinkle of dried oregano or Italian herbs
Instructions:
Make the bannock dough:
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in oil/butter and gradually add warm water until dough forms.
Knead lightly for 2–3 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Prepare the filling:
Mix pizza sauce, cheese, and chosen toppings in a bowl.
Shape the pops:
Roll dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
Cut into circles (about 3–4 inches wide).
Place 1–2 tbsp of filling in the center of each circle.
Fold over and pinch edges tightly, or place another circle on top and seal well.
Cook the bannock pops:
