Here’s a simple, soft bread recipe:
Ingredients:
3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)
¼ cup warm water
2 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add warm milk, butter, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth.
Gradually add remaining flour and knead for 8–10 minutes until dough is soft and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
Punch down, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased 9×5-inch pan.
Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Brush top with melted butter for extra softness. Cool before slicing.
