Here’s a full recipe for juicy, crispy air fryer chicken thighs:
Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe
Ingredients
4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2 lbs)
1 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
½ tsp dried thyme (or oregano)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
Prep the chicken – Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps the skin get extra crispy.
Season – In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Rub the thighs with olive oil, then coat evenly with the seasoning mix.
Preheat air fryer – Set air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
Cook – Place chicken thighs skin-side down in the basket (don’t overcrowd). Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip skin-side up. Continue cooking for another 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Check doneness – Use a meat thermometer; internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part.
Rest & serve – Let rest for 5 minutes before serving for juicier meat.
Tips
For boneless, skinless thighs: Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 16–18 minutes, flipping halfway.
Add chili powder or cayenne for a spicy kick.
Pair with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
