Say less 😄 here’s a juicy, sticky honey-glazed chicken that’s easy enough for weeknights but feels a little fancy.
Honey Glazed Chicken (Stovetop or Oven)
Ingredients
4 chicken thighs or breasts (boneless or bone-in both work)
Salt & black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
⅓ cup honey
3 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium if you have it)
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional but 🔥)
½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for a little kick)
Fresh thyme or parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
Season the chicken
Pat dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear
Heat oil/butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear chicken 4–6 min per side until golden (don’t worry if it’s not fully cooked yet). Remove and set aside.
Make the glaze
Lower heat to medium. In the same pan add:
honey
soy sauce
vinegar or lemon juice
garlic
mustard + chili flakes if using
Stir and let it bubble for ~1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
Glaze & cook
Return chicken to the pan, spoon glaze over it, and simmer:
Boneless: 4–6 minutes
Bone-in: 8–12 minutes
Flip once and keep basting until sticky and cooked through (165°F / 74°C).
Finish
Garnish with herbs and drizzle extra glaze on top.
Pro Tips
Want it extra sticky? Let the glaze reduce a bit more at the end.
Want it crispy? Finish under the broiler for 2–3 minutes.
Add soy sauce + honey + garlic = magic, but a splash of orange juice is also amazing.
