Here’s a classic Hamburger Soup recipe — hearty, comforting, and easy to make:

Homemade Hamburger Soup

Ingredients:

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 medium carrots, sliced

2 ribs celery, sliced

1 medium potato, diced

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)

1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

4 cups beef broth (or more as needed)

1 cup green beans (fresh, canned, or frozen)

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried parsley

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce or 1/2 tsp smoked paprika for depth

Instructions:

Brown the Beef:
In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add Veggies & Aromatics:
Add chopped onion and garlic to the beef. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.

Build the Soup Base:
Stir in carrots, celery, potatoes, diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato paste, and beef broth.

Season:
Add basil, parsley, salt, pepper, and optional Worcestershire or paprika.

Simmer:
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 25–30 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.

Add Green Beans:
Stir in green beans and simmer for another 5–10 minutes.

Taste & Adjust:
Add more salt, pepper, or broth if needed. Serve hot!

Serving Suggestions:

Pair with crusty bread or buttered rolls.

Top with grated cheese or a dollop of sour cream if desired.
